We’ve seen countless piping challenges in our 15+ years supplying stainless steel solutions, and one material consistently rises to the top: 304/304L seamless pipe. It’s not the flashiest alloy, but in chemical plants, food processing lines, and offshore platforms, it’s what keeps operations running smoothly when carbon steel fails and higher alloys would be overkill.
What makes this grade special? 304 (S30400) gives you excellent corrosion resistance in most environments, while 304L (S30403) – with its lower carbon content – solves the weldability issues that plague standard 304 in heavy sections. We’ve supplied 304L pipes to a dairy client that saw zero intergranular corrosion after 8 years of CIP (clean-in-place) cycles with acidic solutions – that’s the difference the L makes.
Built for Real-World Demands
Our extrusion process creates seamless pipes with wall thickness consistency within ±0.1mm, critical for high-pressure systems. Unlike welded pipes, there’s no weak seam – we’ve tested these to 6000 PSI (41.3 MPa) with zero leaks. The cold-working process also gives better mechanical properties than hot-finished alternatives.
Common questions we get:
– “Will it handle our marine environment?” Yes, but we recommend annealing after welding for chloride resistance
– “Can we get it polished for food applications?” Absolutely. We offer Ra ≤ 0.8μm finishes with passivation to prevent iron contamination
– “What about extreme temps?” Performance is solid from -196°C (cryogenic) to 800°C (oxidizing atmospheres)
- We produce diameters from 1/8″ NB to 36″ NB (6mm–914mm), with wall thickness up to 50mm
- Standard lengths are 6m, but we can supply up to 12m with special transport arrangements
- All pipes are 100% PMI tested and come with EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certifications
- Our in-house UT and hydrotesting ensure flawless delivery
