Why 304 2B Finish Stainless Steel Coil Stands Out in the Field
When we first started producing 304 2B stainless steel coils, we quickly realized it wasn’t just about meeting specs—it was about delivering a material that performs in real-world conditions. Over the years, this particular grade has become a workhorse for us, especially in environments where corrosion resistance and formability matter more than chasing the highest tensile numbers.
What sets our 304 2B apart? For one, the 2B finish—achieved through cold rolling, annealing, and acid pickling—gives a consistent, slightly reflective surface that’s ideal for applications where appearance and function coexist. Think kitchen countertops, elevator panels, or even automotive trim: it’s not mirror-bright (that’s BA), but it’s clean, uniform, and hides fingerprints better than you’d expect. We’ve had fabricators tell us it’s their go-to for projects needing a balance between cost and finish quality.
Built for Real-World Demands
We don’t just test to ASTM A240, EN 10088-2, and JIS G4305—we exceed them where it counts. Our low carbon version (≤0.08%) minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion, which matters if you’re welding or operating in high-temp settings. The mechanicals? Solid: ≥515 MPa tensile, ≥205 MPa yield, and ≥40% elongation—meaning it bends, draws, and forms without cracking, even in complex shapes. One client used it for deep-drawn sink bowls with zero edge splitting, which is always a win.
- Thickness range: 0.3mm to 3.0mm, with tight ±0.02mm tolerance—critical for precision stamping and roll forming
- Widths: 1000–1500mm, with in-house slitting to exact needs (yes, even 17.5mm strips for specialty components)
- Coil IDs: 508mm or 610mm, but we’ve done 400mm for compact processing lines
We’ve also seen a rise in demand from chemical equipment makers, where the 304’s resistance to organic acids and mild chlorides makes it a cost-effective alternative to 316 in less aggressive environments. And because we control the full process—from melt to finish—we can adjust chemistry and rolling parameters to match specific end uses.
Our Edge: Flexibility and Experience
Being based in China isn’t just about cost—it’s about scale, speed, and deep process control. We run multiple annealing lines with precise temperature profiling, ensuring consistent grain structure across every coil. Need a custom width with deburred edges for automated feeding? Done. Want MTCs with every batch, including third-party verification? Standard practice.
We’ve been doing this for over 15 years, and we know stainless steel isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re prototyping a new appliance or sourcing bulk coils for cladding, we tailor the specs—grade, finish (2B, BA, No.4, HL), temper, packaging—to your line, not the other way around.
